our lovely Reading Friends
Reading Friends is a fantastic opportunity that allows children to engage in reading and share their reading experiences on a 1 to 1 basis with people, who are committed to supporting the love of reading. Our children benefit greatly from the time volunteers give to hearing children read. We have found that children who experience reading 1:1 with an adult each week on our reading friends programme accelerate their reading ages by several months over a short 6 week block. Mrs Wood keeps comprehensive records of pupil's progress using this intervention. Our children just love the time reading for 20 minutes with their adult each week. Please call into the school office or see a member of staff if you have an hour to spare, or know someone who has, and are interested in becoming a Reading Friend.
