We have a great laugh in our class, but are really eager to learn at the same time. We take pride in our work and always want to acheive great new Heights. We are resilient, kind and hard-working in our class. We love to learn and are always trying to find out new things. If you need any more information regarding Class Three, please pop into the school office and ask to speak to a member of staff who works in there.

WHO IS WHO IN CLASS THREE?

Mr Coates is our teacher.

Mrs Wagstaff also teaches in Class Three on a Thursday afternoon.

We are supported by: Mrs Crowther, Mrs Scholes and Mr Gledhill.

Mr Purcell is our specialised Music Teacher and teaches us on a Friday.

Mrs Cooper is our specialised French and R.E. Teacher and teaches us on a Tuesday.

Josh is our dedicated P.E. Coach and will teach us on a Monday.

WHAT CAN WE DO AT HOME?

Learning is important across a child's life and therefore we ask that children complete little jobs and tasks at home.  We must ensure that reading takes place, we learn our times tables, we learn our KIRFs and learn any spellings that we may be given.

Reading lots is always important and it is important that we write what we have read in our planners. Remember that we have the top 60 books to read before you leave Class Three! The document is in your planners but can also be found below. We also do spellings each week, where the pupils are expected to use the words they are practising.

The KIRFS for the year can be found below.

Autumn 1- Half Term

Our topic for this half term is: What are the 7 Natural Wonders of the World? In this topic we are going to be investigating the Wonders of the world. Looking at their physical geographical features, where they are in the world, who lives near to them, how they are formed and what the climate is like in these areas. Through this we shall complete a great deal of map work. We shall also be creating pop up cards of a natural wonder of the world.

Look who came to visit Class 3. We were extremely fortunate to have Robin-the pantomime dame from last year's LBT performance- come to do a workshop with our children. The workshop was around Roald Dahl and his life. From this we moved into making our own Revolting Rhymes. Watch the video as Class 3 perform their own Revolting Rhyme.

Autumn 2

Our topic for the rest of the Autumn term is: Natural Disasters. In this topic we shall be investigating where natural disasters take place, what causes them and what effect they have on the people who live there. We shall be contrasting this to our local area at all times and finding out why we don't experience many natural disasters. We are also starting our Carry My Story project and taking a look at our levers and gears in D.T- seeing these in action in our local area at the canal.

WHAT ARE WE READING IN CLASS?

We really love reading in Class Three and we really are trying to read as much as we possibly can.

Our current literacy book is: Survivor by David Long
This book is based around peoples experiences of people howing strength, bravery and self-belief to overcome the odds and live to tell the tale.
