CLASS 3

Welcome to our Class Three Page! .

I hope that this information is helpful and useful and you are able to find out things that you need to know about life in Class Three at Clough Head J and I School.

Class 3 Pupils

In class 3 we have a mix of Year 4, 5 and 6 pupils. They work together in both year group and mixed year groupings.

Staff in Class 3

We are taught by Miss Travis on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and Mrs Wagstaff on Thursdays and Fridays. Miss Travis and Mrs wagstaff plan lessons together and work with other staff across the federation so that we are all taught the same themes relevant for our year groups.

We are supported in Class 3 by Mrs Crowther, Mr Gledhill, Mrs Scholes and Miss Garner.

We also have PE lessons with our class teachers and Mr Kenwrothy each week.

Our Class Timetable

Our PE days are on a Wednesday and we should come into school in our PE kit on this day. We will stay in our kit all day and change at home. On the other days we need to come in school uniform. Each day we need to remember to bring our planners and reading books so we have them in school to use.

Planners

Our planners will be checked and signed each Friday and parents should sign and read them each week too. We will collect merits in the front of our planners and the planners will also have our recommended reads in there for us to look at and use. These are all the books recommended for children to read in Years 4, 5 and 6. Reading is really important and parents and pupils should record when we have read at home - aim for 3 times a week please.

Curriculum

This half term we will be focusing on the theme of Benin. We will have a key focus on history and the civilisation of Benin. We will link the texts we study to this theme and will use this for our literacy work this half term. In maths our focus will be on number and place value as well as fractions.

Please click here for a copy of our curriculum newsletter.

We will be using a knowledge organiser as our fact file of all the facts we need to know linked to our theme of Benin. Click here to download or a view a copy of the knoweldge organiser. If we know facts about the topic we can apply our knowledge in the same way as we can apply our knowledge of timestables in maths to problems.

Please keep checking back here where we will post new information relevant to Class 3 at Clough Head! If you have any suggestions on how we could improve this page please get in touch.
